An Explorable Realm of Endless Sensory Experiences
AI/LLM + Education + Architecture
In the era of information explosion, technology giants have held the discourse power. Big data has transformed individuals into codes, binding people within information cocoons and leading to a loss of independent thinking. I hoped that the decentralized metaverse could enable individuals to focus on exploring, thinking, and creating information, rather than being confined by data and information retrieval.
In terms of form, I chose a circular shape. Content creators could engage in simple yet infinite information construction within the circle, allowing users to intuitively experience and explore, akin to entering a Möbius strip. I divided the home in the metaverse into three areas: the inner ring, outer ring, and information ring. The inner ring served as the area for centralized information display, the outer ring provided immersive information spaces, and the information ring functioned as the space for information selection. Our exploration of the home began with "a world in a grain of sand," delving into spatial forms and sensory expressions beyond conventional scales. Through the circulation and penetration of spaces, I achieved scale transitions. Utilizing the transparency and accessibility of spaces, we defined the availability and usability of information.
I envisioned the home in the metaverse to be akin to the Tower of Babel, a place for thinking, exploring, creating, and engaging in unrestricted, timeless communication and collaboration with others—a decentralized home.
In the physical world, the home is the space most familiar to humans. In the metaverse, we conceptualized the "home" as both familiar and uncanny—a central hub and point of departure for all metaverse activities. The metaverse home was designed to embody dynamic forms and boundless content expansion. While virtual space creation remained challenging for non-professionals, advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), particularly in machine learning, demonstrated the feasibility of generating virtual worlds driven by personal preferences and ideas. This implied that the home could extend infinitely, manifesting as comic book settings, fantasy realms, or cosmic dimensions—all originating from the human brain and realized through digital algorithms
